I’m Lachie McKeeman - a rural GP, husband, father of three and I’ve lived in North East Victoria since 2013 and now live on a farm in Wooragee.
I am a doctor in Wodonga and a volunteer firefighter at Wooragee CFA. I play footy for Yackandandah and am a committee member of the Yackandandah Football and Netball Club.
As a doctor, I’ve seen firsthand the challenges facing people who live outside the big cities - access to healthcare, workforce shortages, cost-of-living pressures and the need for strong local services.
These decades of frontline healthcare experience have fuelled a passion for improving outcomes for patients, communities, and health services. I’m an active advocate of better healthcare, serving as Secretary of the Border Medical Association and campaigning publicly for a new Albury-Wodonga hospital.
I’m running to be your community-backed independent candidate for Benambra, because the region has been taken for granted for too long and deserves better than what it is getting.
I’m sick of politicians showing up and promising the world and then disappearing for the next four years. I’m standing because I believe our community deserves someone who will listen, tell the truth, and stand up for what is right for us.
